The logotypes design challenges displayed below are “Michigan State University” and “Greenpeace.”
Logotype design for Michigan State University.

The essence of Michigan State University is complete, elegant, straightforward advanced education.
The use of ERAS light in the MSU logo achieves a straightfoward, elegant simplicity, with a suggestion of unpretentious sophistication. Simple glyphs have been repositioned typographically to create an impression of books, a graduation cap, and a sense of always moving forward.
Simple use of MSU’s primary colors associate the logo further with the University, yet allow it to be reproduced effectively in black & white.
Logotype for Greenpeace.

The essence of the Greenpeace organization is applying principles of the natural balance-of-nature toward a goal of systemic world natural and political harmonies.
The use of Papyrus in the Greenpeace logo achieves a natural, organic look. It is suggestive of natural beauty with a simple, yet serious tone. ‘Staircased’ along a rising path, the ‘Green’ portion of the logotype is suggestive of methodic progress toward goals, while ‘peace,’ in a slightly larger typesize and ‘staircased’ on a descending path, is suggestive of some achievement and proximity to conclusion.
The logo is balanced on the descender of the lowercase ‘p’ and is suggestive of a waving flag, such that might be displayed on the organization’s headquarters, aboard it’s iconic flagship ‘Rainbow Warrior,’ or outside any other organizational facilities.
